R.E.A.D. WorkshopIt would be great to have you join us in this exciting and heartwarming program, Reading Education Assistance Dogs! While the program name refers to dogs, most registered therapy animals can participate and help improve children's reading skills.
You can learn more about the Reading Education Assistance Dogs program by participating in a R.E.A.D. workshop. All workshops are conducted in small groups by Nancy Brooks, a licensed R.E.A.D. instructor. The workshop participants do not need to be registered as a therapy team at the time of the R.E.A.D. training, but they will need to be registered before they begin volunteering and when they apply for R.E.A.D. membership. This is a fast paced, information packed class for humans only. The emphasis is on what you need to know for a successful reading program; it is not a hands-on class of teaching your animal specific skills.
